Healing Cucumber And Garlic Salad: Lowers Cholesterol And Regulates High Blood Pressure

According to the Mayo Clinic, hypertension or high blood pressure is a common condition in which the force of the blood against the walls of an artery is very high, thus leading to health issues such as  heart disease.

Your blood pressure will be higher if the heart pumps more blood and the arteries are quite narrow. The worst part about this condition is that it usually goes undetected. As a result, the risk of a heart disease and stroke is much higher.

As we previously mentioned, this condition is very common and according to the statistics, even 70 million adult Americans suffer from it. In other words, 40 percent of adults over the age of 25 suffer from hypertension.

The major factor for hypertension is high cholesterol, but there are also other reasons such as stress, poor diet and physical inactivity.

Since ancient times, people have been using garlic for its medicinal purposes, and even today, garlic is still used in the treatment of low blood pressure, high blood pressure, heart attack, atherosclerosis, reduced blood flow due to narrowed arteries, high cholesterol and coronary heart disease.

Science has confirmed that allicin, the active compound in garlic uses the same mechanism as blood pressure drugs to lower blood pressure, so this is a great reason to start eating garlic on a regular basis. Moreover, the consumption of garlic will also help you control cholesterol, prevent the creation of angiotensin II and relax blood vessels.

Cucumbers are a rich source of fiber, magnesium, potassium and they also have high amounts of water. Fiber is very important since it reduces cholesterol, prevents type 2 diabetes, regulates blood pressure and stimulates weight losss, while potassium balances the amount of sodium in the cells which usually lead to atherosclerosis.

Make sure to prepare this amazing salad and consume it on a regular basis because it will help you improve your cardiovascular health.
