Japanese Apple Gives Energy And Helps With Many Health Problems

The world is getting more and more interested about the national fruit of Japan- Apple kaki. Beside being extremely durable and healthy, its attention is drawn by the beauty of its trees, especially in winter when the fruits alone remain on the bare branches.


Even though they are now considered as one of the symbols of Japan, they actually come from Manchuria. Their name stands for “food of the gods”. As “east golden apple” from China arrived in Japan, thanks to Marco Polo it came in Europe. It is interesting that seeds survived a devastating operation of the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki, as evidenced by Japanese botanists.

The size and the shape of this fruit depends on the species. They can be round, oval or pear- shaped, while their color is orange, yellow or red. The best part is its taste which is unique and resambles a mix of apricot and peach. In order to feel completely, the fruit should be mature and then juicy, sweet and can be eaten with spoon. On the other hand, when the fruit is not mature enough, it has a pugnent taste, due to the large amount of tannin.

The consumption of fresh fruit or drinking the juice will help you with constipation and intestinal inflammation, disorders of digestion, especially wheile traveling or climate changes.

Moreover, it can help you with poor secretion of bile, hypertension,  hemorrhoids, stomach disorders, and fatty liver, as well. in order to treat hypertension, you need to drink freshly squeezed juice, which you should consume for several weeks. Thanks to these apples, in some parts of the former Soviet Union extinct endemic “goiter”. Researchers have found that this is due to sugar and iodine in organic form.

It should also be mentioned that Japanese apple is a rich source of flavonoids, especially quercetin, which keeps the heart and reduces the risk of heart attack by 20 percent. Moreover, it protects the body from the harmful effects of free radicals, rich in vitamin C strengthens the immune system, as well as fiber, which lowers bad cholesterol.

The traditional Chinese medicine suggests the use of these apples for the recovery of energy (chi) and they also recommend it for fatigue, but not on an empty stomach. Another important thing to mention is that you should consume them in moderation because they contain a lot of sugar and can lead to diarrhea.

Diabetics are allowed to consume them in small quantities. The dried ripe fruit is recommended for bronchitis and dry cough. All you have to do is to grind the dried fruit and take its powder with honey in equal parts or scoop of powder poured into tea.

Another alternative is to peel the fruit and dry it in the sun. In this form it is effective in eliminating the parasites in the intestines, stops bleeding and cough, lowers the temperature, helps with hot flashes during menopause.

You can also use the fleshy part of the fruit in order to prepare a facial mask. Just mix the inner part of the apple with a spoon and put it on your face and leace it for 20 minutes to act. Then wash with lukewarm water, gently wipe the face with a clean towel and apply youe usual cream.
